Dine Out at Six Feet Under for National and Georgia Multiple Sclerosis Research

By John Prevost
Grant Park’s favorite neighborhood pub and fish house, Six Feet Under is hosting a dine-out on Tuesday May 8 to support Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research. A portion of dinner proceeds will be donated to help the Shepherd Center’s cycling team qualify for a major MS bike ride later this summer. The team’s overall goal is $50,000 for MS research and support for people with MS.
Team Shepherd cycling is a mix of Shepherd Center employees, their family and friends, and others who enjoy cycling for fun and exercise – but mostly fun. They have committed to riding in the Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride this September. Each rider must raise a minimum of $250 to qualify for the ride. Last year the team registered 120 riders of all abilities and each rider received a very cool Team Shepherd riding jersey. Check out the team website at http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/Shepherd-HDSvans and drop them a line. Better yet, join!  Riders live all over the Atlanta area including Grant Park (that would be the author)! They invite you to join them for weekly training rides. It’s a blast!
Shepherd Center knows MS. In addition to being one of the nation’s leading hospitals specializing in medical treatment, research and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, chronic pain and other neurological conditions, it is also the region’s most comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation center for people with multiple sclerosis. This is why Team Shepherd rides to support the National and Georgia MS societies. They are excited that Six Feet Under has joined Come to the dine-out at Six Feet Under, 457 Memorial Drive, and be part of the team!
