Grant Park Porch Fest. Saturday, March 21.A neighborhood favorite! Wander around Grant Park and enjoy live music on porches throughout the neighborhood.See the schedule of bands and porch locations at www.grantparkporchfest.com.

Grant Park Parents Network (GPPN) Owls Egg Hunt + Picnic Potluck. Saturday, March 28. Grant Park, Loomis Plaza at Sydney Street and Loomis Avenue. Meet at 11:00am. Before the hunt begins, we’d love to capture a big Owls picture – babies, toddlers, parents, everyone! Look for the Owl sign to find us. The egg hunt kicks off at 11:30am. Right after the egg hunt wraps up, join the entire Owls group for a picnic. We’ll have a potluck-style spread.

Various tours on the history of the cemetery, focused tours on music makers and veterans of Oakland cemetery, and Victorian symbolism are scheduled throughout the year.

  • illumine (April 16-19; April 23-26). When the sun sets, the night reveals light-centered interactive and immersive art in a “gallery space” unlike any in Atlanta. This year, guests can experience illumine in new ways, including the Artist Spotlight Tour tickets, an artist or curator-led tour of the event. With Cat Eye Creative as Oakland’s curation partner for a second year, they have co-curated another talented roster of Atlanta artists for illumine 2026.   • Run Like Hell 5K (April 4). The largest cemetery run in the country, Run Like Hell is one of Atlanta’s favorite neighborhood 5K fundraisers, with all proceeds going to the restoration and preservation of historic Oakland Cemetery. Participants are encouraged to “run like hell” while the Oakland grounds are “pushing up daisies!” visit oaklandcemetery.com.

Annual EAV Egg Hunt. Presented by the East Atlanta Parents Network. Saturday, March 28. Brownwood Park. 10:00am – Peter Rabbit meet and greet; 10:30am – Egg hunt begins. Coffee cart and pastries available. More eggs than last year!

Whispers of History Walking Tour. Sponsored by EABA, staffed by BATL. Saturday, May 2, 2:00pm04:00:00pm. Meet at the EAV Library at 1:45pm. REGISTRATION INFO COMING SOON. This tour will travel along the front lines of the Civil War Battle of Atlanta and to focal points in historic East Atlanta, providing an action-packed overview of the battle while walking through its most contested land.

Pushing Up Daisies Garden Tour. Saturday, May 9. Discover the hidden blooms of East Atlanta on the Garden Tour that supports historic Sylvester Cemetery. More info to come.

East Atlanta Chess Club. Meetings every Wednesday at Branan Towers, 1200 Glenwood Avenue..Weekly rated tournament from 6:00pm-10:00pm, and free play for those players who want to play casually. All ages and skills levels are welcome. Children under twelve must be accompanied by an adult.
