August 10 Keeper for a Day: Birds and Reptiles, Zoo Atlanta. What does it take to be an animal care professional? Help Zoo animal experts with feeding and daily husbandry. Spend the morning with the Zoo’s feathered flyers; then travel across the Zoo to work with Aldabra giant tortoises and more. Participants must be 14 years old or older. August 10 Family Zoo Yoga, Zoo Atlanta. Families with children ages 4 and up are invited to practice yoga in the Zoo before Zoo Atlanta opens. Join a certified yoga instructor to learn poses inspired by the animals of the African Savanna. After the class, learn fun facts about the animals and their connections to humans. August 12 World Elephant Day, Zoo Atlanta. African elephants are some of the planet’s most majestic and recognizable animals, but they face serious threats. Find out what you can do to help, and learn more about elephant conservation programs and partnerships at Zoo Atlanta.

August 14 Golden Frog Day, Zoo Atlanta. Join a global day of awareness for one of the planet’s rarest and most beautiful amphibian species. Visit the Panamanian golden frogs at Zoo Atlanta and learn more about the Zoo’s work to help save this species.

Family NightCrawlers, Zoo Atlanta. Spend the night in the Zoo. Enjoy interactive activities, team challenges and a special animal encounter.
