August will be Surprise! month in Life is Too Short to Watch Lousy Movies, the free Woodland Hills film viewing and discussion group. For the first time ever, on August 2nd attendees will have no idea what they’ll be seeing, except that it will be an acknowledged classic, a lot of fun — and probably pretty unusual. As always, the program will include a cartoon and/or short subject, clips from documentaries or other films in the same genre, and intelligent moderated discussion.
To learn more about the group, which is currently in its eighth year of screening classics, visit their website at ClassicFilmAppreciation.webs.com. You can sign up for the Drop In (i.e., mailing) list on the Contact Us page of the site. Address questions to the group’s moderator, Steve Whiteman, at ClassicFilmAppreciation@gmail.com.
