Late Breaking Reminder: Local Artist Brings It Home

By Henry Bryant
From the National Gallery in Accra, Ghana, to The Wilmer Jennings Gallery at Kenkeleba House in the East Village of New York, from the Havana Bienal in Cuba, to the Holter Museum of Art in Montana, Batya’s paintings have been seen all over the country and the world. The Friends of East Atlanta Library and the Atlanta Fulton Library System are inviting everyone to the opening reception for Barbara Nesin, aka Batya Tamar. Her work will be on display in a new solo show at the library at 400 Flat Shoals Avenue in the East Atlanta Village.
This is a last-minute reminder since the reception will be Saturday, March 18, at 3:30pm and running until 5:30pm. There will be wine and other refreshments served. Library board member Beverly Turner says, “That gives art lovers two hours to drop in, meet the artist, see some terrific art and get to know some neighbors.” The bold stylized compositions will be offered for sale with a portion to benefit the East Atlanta Library. The canvases will be on display for two months during regular library hours.
