White Woman in Progress at 7 Stages

By Caroline Huftalen
Inspired by her role as civil rights activist Viola Liuzzo in the Oscar nominated movie Selma, Tara Ochs will premiere her one-woman show White Woman in Progress at 7 Stages Theatre March 17 through April 9. This thought-provoking piece champions individual power and breaks open the conversation surrounding privilege, race, and social justice today.
What is that feeling of wanting to make a difference or change, where does it come from, and what do you do with it? White Woman in Progress seeks the connection between Ochs and Liuzzo, two white women called to participate in change. Ochs, who is both author and actress, blends history with her training in theater and improvisation in this highly interactive piece.
This one-woman show runs March 17 through April 9, with performances Thursdays through Sundays. The 7 Stages Theatre is located at 1105 Euclid Avenue NE. Ticket prices start at $22.50 and are on sale now at www.7stages.org or by calling 404-523-7647.
