The Spring Fling in Grant Park on Saturday, April 23, was a happy occasion. With three separate egg hunts, even the Easter Bunny was impressed with 1,000 eggs to be found. Thank you to Pop’s Popsicles for giving out free popsicles… they were delicious. Thank you to all the neighbors that donated sweet treats for the bake sale.
Thank you to Meg Richards-Boeff, for orchestrating the Spring Fling, and to her three lead organizers, Anne Mitchell, Morgan Lindsey, and Marie Mower. Many volunteers helped with the event by filling the eggs and hiding them, making and selling picnic lunches, setting up tables, cleaning after the event, applying fake tattoos, and controlling bubble fluid.
Thank you: Josh Berman, Elizabeth Spivey, Paula Wells, Kim Britt, Lauren Hise, Brad Mitchell, Vicktoria Baylor, Lisa Monaco, Rene Esler, Holly Wilhelm, Jen Rosen, Jessica Harlan, Sloane Cheatham, Sarah Roberts, Erin Fletcher, Shelly Guberman, Neta Weber, Kate Anderson, Cathy Spencer, Michelle Stevens, Kelly Hendry, Elizabeth Lenhard, Megan Gatewood, Gwen and Ann (last names not known).
The winners of the Jelly Bean count were the Mitchell’s of Rosedale Avenue. They won a prize given by the Grant Park Conservancy.
The Spring Fling was a free event hosted by the Grant Park Parent Network (GPPN). These events rely heavily on volunteers to make them happen. Please get involved and let’s grow fun together! You can find more information by visiting the website at www.grantparkparents.org, visiting the Facebook page, or receiving regular emails on upcoming events by contacting Meg Richards-Boeff at meg.boeff@gmail.com.
The GPPN could use donations for decorations. Please give us plastic Easter eggs for next year’s use, Halloween and Christmas decorations for upcoming events. At any time, leave these items on the front porch at 543 Atlanta Avenue SE through the month of May. If you can’t drop off, please contact mgpmower@yahoo.com for pickup.
