St. Nicholas Orthodox Academy announces open registration fall 206-2017 for high school grades, fourth through sixth grade cluster, and kindergarten. The 15-year-old school has eleven students enrolled and has a homeschool atmosphere. Students are fully enrolled in all academic subjects. St. Nicholas uses Saxon Math and a variety of curriculums for language arts, science, and social studies. Students take the Iowa Skills Test or the PSAT for standardized testing each year.
St. Nicholas offers small classes, one-on-one instruction, and coursework based on Georgia Performance Standards. Its educational program includes creative writing, reading for pleasure, gardening, team sports and weekly visits to Zoo Atlanta. The school, accredited with quality by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, is a ministry of St. John the Wonderworker Orthodox Church and is located at 543 Cherokee Avenue in the Church building.
