Cabbagetown Clay and Glass Works (CCGW), a nonprofit art studio and gallery, will host their 14th Annual Holiday Sale on Friday, December 4 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. It will feature the work of twelve different artists, ranging from fused glass to fine porcelain to raku fired pieces. The artists work side by side in their cooperative environment, demonstrating their own styles and expertise. The result is commissioned work, international patrons, and even pieces featured on movie sets.
“As a new member of CCGW, I am constantly inspired by the talent of my colleagues and by their enthusiasm for sharing their love of clay. This is a place to learn and to grow, as well as a place to shop for great handmade items,” says Helen Silverstein.
Come meet the artists—the people you’ve come to know and love, as well as the newest members. While you browse, sample cider and snacks, and have a taste of Eventide Brewery beer.
Founded in 2002, CCGW’s mission is to “create a community of artisan fellowship by promoting local art and craft education.” Owned and operated by its member artists, CCGW also supports fundraisers for community causes. CCGW is a 1,300-square-foot facility with kilns, pottery wheels, glazes, and 24-hour access. It offers both classes and memberships. For more information, visit the website at www.ccgworks.org or the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CCGWorks.
CCGW is located at 588 Woodward Avenue. After opening night, the gallery will be open weekdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and every weekend from 9:00am to 3:00pm until Christmas.
