Annual Cornhole Challenge for Charity

By Carolyn Smith
Atlanta families and visitors took part in Gas South’s 3rd Annual Cornhole Challenge at SweetWater Brewing Co.’s 420 Fest on Sunday, April 20 at Centennial Olympic Park. Competitors like Chris Mcewen of East Atlanta battled for a chance at the grand prize: a VIP SweetWater party courtesy of Gas South and SweetWater.
Thousands of people flocked to April’s most anticipated festival, which took place the last weekend before Earth Day. As the presenting sponsor, Gas South hosted Planet 420, a special segment of the event dedicated to raising sustainability awareness and teaching Atlantans about being green. Planet 420 included the Nonprofit Village, where local charities offered sustainability workshops, green product solutions and competed in the Cornhole Challenge. The Planet 420 stage hosted a variety of great music throughout the weekend.
“Gas South has sponsored 420 Fest for the last six years and SweetWater remains a valued partner of ours,” said Chris Coan, vice president of business and government markets at Gas South. “Our promise to give back to the communities we serve, while remaining environmentally conscious, aligns perfectly with the festival and is the reason for Gas South’s continued support. Congratulations to our local Cornhole tournament winners!
