The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is teaming up with Atlanta Contact Point and the Atlanta Jazz Festival to present the next Play Day on the Atlanta BeltLine for Children and Adults on Saturday, May 17 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Washington Park. The City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation, Park Pride, the Atlanta Sport and Social Club, and many other local organizations are also helping to make Play Day a huge success.
Play Day is a free, fun-filled day of sports, fitness, nutrition, and education, where local coaches and organizations come together to facilitate activities, drills and games for various sports and activities. Everyone is invited to join the fun. There will be separate fields for family activities and adult activities. “At the heels of an extremely successful Play Day event in March, where 700 Atlantans participated in dozens of sports and activities and had an amazing time, we are incredibly excited to partner with not only Atlanta Contact Point but also Atlanta Jazz Festival to make our May Play Day on the Atlanta BeltLine the biggest and best yet,” said Atlanta BeltLine Program Director Rob Brawner. “The Atlanta BeltLine is developing exciting new greenspaces that allow for Atlantans to engage in active lifestyles and embrace physical activity as a fun new way of life. Through partnerships with organizations such as Atlanta Contact Point, we are providing unique opportunities for people of all ages and fitness levels to enjoy their favorite sports as well as explore fun new fitness activities.”
Play Day will include dozens of coaches and organizations for a full day of activities for children and adults. We will have access to the pool for swimming and water polo; tennis courts for tennis and roller/street hockey; fields for softball and kickball, flag football, ultimate, golf, lacrosse, soccer, rugby, and more, as well as a stage for dance and jazz music.
