While Atlanta is well known for many great things, preserving its history is not one of them. However, here in our little section of the ATL, people value our neighborhood history and special sense of community. For the last 32 years, the organizers of the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes have invited the world at large to experience a little of both, all in one fun-filled weekend, right here in Grant Park.
This year’s 33rd Annual Grant Park Candlelight Tour extends the same invitation. Come take a peek at this historical and fun neighborhood through the soft glow of candles and holiday lights. Save the dates now: Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, and plan to mingle with your neighbors at the Artists’ Market or Winter Wonderland, volunteer during the various events, or just enjoy the nightly caroling that can be heard along the tour route.
While it is only October now, December will be here fast. Organizers from St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grant Park Cooperative Preschool, and Grant Park Parent Network are in the early stages of planning this year’s event. They are currently selecting homes for this year’s tour. Please feel free to contact Rob Smith at 404-906-5857 or via email at rob@robsmith.biz if you would like more information about placing your home on this year’s tour.
If you would like information about participating in the Artists’ Market or are interested in sponsoring the 2013 tour, please email candlelighttour@stpaulgrantpark.org for more information.
