New Pastor at Martha Brown

By Henry Bryant
Rev. Alvin Lingenfelter has recently been appointed the new Pastor at Martha Brown United Methodist Church. He began his duties there in the fall. Rev. Lingenfelter is on the faculty at LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia where he teaches in both the religion and sustainability fields and directs the Church Leadership Program.
Alvin and wife Lindsey have two children, Amos and Leighton, and live in the Forrest Hills Neighborhood of Decatur. He is thankful to be working in such a vibrant and creative neighborhood as East Atlanta and hopes to find many ways that Martha Brown United Methodist Church can build upon its 120-plus years of supporting the community.
The church is located in the East Atlanta Village at the corner of Moreland and Metropolitan Avenues. There are lots of activities going on at the church through each week, and on Sundays, Sunday school begins at 9:45am with worship services beginning at 11:00am. For more information, you can call the church office at 404-622-1473 or visit the website at www.marthabrown.org.
