St. Paul Methodist Church and Boy Scout Troop 150 take great pride in announcing three young men have, through much hard work and dedication, achieved Boy Scout’s highest rank of Eagle Scout.
Jack Breedlove is a junior at Maynard Jackson High School and served as the first senior patrol leader for Grant Park Boy Scouts Troop 150. Jack is a graduate of the Boy Scouts National Youth Leadership Training and is a member of the Order of the Arrow, which is scouting’s National Honor Society. In addition to scouting, Jack is the starting varsity kicker for the Maynard Jackson football team and is ranked number two in the nation for the Class of 2019 by ProKIcker. Jack is a student scholar with the Maynard Jackson Youth Foundation Leadership Academy and has earned the A/B Honor Role in IB-DP classes. At Maynard Jackson, Jack is a member of the Chess Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Dante Orlando is a junior at Maynard Jackson. In addition to scouting, Dante has played ice hockey for 12 years, and he also plays lacrosse for Jackson where he was chosen for the MVP award last season. At Jackson High, Dante is a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club. He recently earned a silver medal in the APS science fair and is a member of Jackson’s academic decathlon team, which won first place in the district. Dante’s Eagle Scout service project was installing a fire pit and benches at the Ormewood Church in Ormewood Park with the help of several volunteers. Dante also is a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Spencer Scott started scouting as a founder in “The Pack in the Park,” Grant Park Cub Scout Pack 688 as a Wolf Cub. After earning the Arrow of Light, he moved to the newly formed Troop 150 as one of the first four founding scouts (along with Jack Breedlove). Spencer flourished in scouts and has served in multiple leadership positions with the troop, is a member of the Order of the Arrow and served as chapter chief for the Phoenix-North Atlanta Chapter and membership chair for the district lodge. Spencer also worked for Woodruff Boy Scout Camp last summer as a merit badge councilor, teaching pioneering, cooking, and camping. Spencer also attended National Youth Leadership Training during his time with scouting. Spencer’s Eagle project was called 6 Flags over St. Paul. He posted flags representing the diversity of the congregation outside the church and inside the sanctuary. Spencer is a member of the varsity cross-country and lacrosse teams, served as freshman class president, and is a member of the art club at Maynard Jackson.
All three boys attended the National Boy Scout Jamboree in Bectel, West Virginia last Summer.
Scoutmaster David Scott and the rest of Troop 150 invite you join them for their very first Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, March 18, in the St. Paul Methodist Church rectory, located at 501 Grant Street, at 3:00pm. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony.
