Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper Celebration

By Rebecca Wellman
Just when you thought it was time to stay home and relax after a busy holiday season, Mardi Gras sneaks up on you. The St. Paul Golden Age Center will hold their 26th Annual Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper on March 4. They celebrate by cooking and sharing pancakes, warm syrup and fruit toppings, bacon and sausage (regular or veggie), and orange juice. They’ll have balloons, tattoos, crafts, and Mardi Gras beads for the kids and the young at heart. And, of course, everyone looks forward to visiting with their friends in the community.
They will be serving pancakes from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm in the social hall at the St. Paul United Methodist Church located at 501 Grant Street in historic Grant Park. Meal tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children between 8 and 4, and children 3 or younger eat free. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help, you may call Becky Wellman at 404-688-7501.
The St. Paul Golden Age Center serves senior citizens in the Grant Park and Ormewood Park neighborhoods. The programs they provide for our seniors include hot meals, health and wellness programs, trips, and loving fellowship. All services are provided at no cost to their participants.
This fundraiser is sponsored by Carla and Scott Smith. All proceeds will directly benefit the St. Paul Golden Age Center, and all donations are tax-exempt.
