After a pandemic hiatus, area elementary school PTAs will host a fall festival at King Middle School on October 22 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Bringing future jaguars together, the joint festival is free for all elementary school age kids and students attending the feeder schools of Benteen, Burgess Peterson Academy, Dunbar, Michelle & Barack Obama Academy, Parkside Elementary, and Toomer Elementary will also receive a free Jaguar Meal.
“We started the Commit to King Fall Festival in 2018 to provide a fun forum to bring families together that typically don’t have an opportunity to interact before they start 6th grade,” said Andrea Bastek, 2022 festival chair and parent of students currently at Toomer and Maynard Jackson High School. “Parents get a chance to tour the school while their kids are having a blast. Past festivals were well-received by kids and parents alike.”
Students attending the festival at King will enjoy a petting zoo, reptile show, bounce houses, and more. For more information, parents should contact their elementary school PTA.
