On October 1, the East Atlanta Kids Club (EAKC) will once again bring the Brownwood Bike Rally back to the park. The event is based at the Brownwood Park Recreation Center, home to the Kid’s Club, at 602 Brownwood Avenue. Over the years, this event has included races geared toward kids, CRIT-CX events for adults, bike rodeos, bike safety demonstrations, health fairs, arts and crafts, raffles, and vendors from the community. It’s a day to celebrate cycling and to recognize the community of support EAKC has among local cycling groups, corporate sponsors, local businesses, and East Atlanta neighbors.
In 2022, the focus will be as we focus on ramping up the youth side of the event and bringing more kids and teens into the community, requiring the Crit-CX event to be on hiatus this year. In 2023, the Rally will return with an even larger, more competitive field across youth and Crit-CX events.
This year’s event kicks off at 8:00am with On-site Registration and ends with the Adult Race Awards at 1:15pm. There will be a Sports and Fitness Fair, Kid Fun Zone, Refreshments, BMX Demos, and more activities throughout the day at Brownwood Park. See the entire schedule on the website, where you can also sign up to compete, volunteer, or sponsor. www.eastatlantakids.1org/brownwood-bike-rally.
This is the signature fundraising event for the year, the East Atlanta Kid’s Club is always looking for more sponsors to join them in rallying around the kids and creating more opportunities for high quality out-of-school-time programming year-round. Volunteers are both needed and appreciated for the event. You can register for volunteer opportunities at the race registration website, where you can find out more about the annual event that is fun for both kids and adults.
