Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Fall Fest

By Amy D’Unger
An annual tradition, the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School’s Fall Fest, is back again. On Saturday, October 18, the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School’s (ANCS) elementary school campus at 688 Grant Street will host the festival with pony rides, food, music, crafts, and activities to celebrate the arrival of fall. The event will take place from noon to 3:00 pm.
There will be fun activities geared for all ages, two to 102. Sit back and chill while listening to local musicians, or get up and move in the fun games and contests. Enjoy some wonderful goodies at the bake sale and the cupcake walk, then burn off those calories in a three-legged race.
Kids will love to watch and ride the ponies. You can also take a turn at the dunking booth to see if you can dunk one of the brave – and chilly – ANCS teachers, or even an Atlanta Public School Board member, all for a good cause. Proceeds from the event will go to support the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School’s PTCA.
ANCS’s elementary campus principal, Laura Zelski, said, “ANCS enjoys being an active part of the neighborhood, and we are grateful for the support we receive from our community. The ANCS Fall Fest is a great way to have some fun together and support the school at the same time.”
All members of the community are encouraged to come to the ANCS Fall Fest, and event sponsors are needed. A special thanks to all those who have already become event sponsors for this year: Atlanta City Council Member Carla Smith, Grant Park Coffeehouse, Intown Healthy Hound, InTown Stars Gymnastics, and King of Pops. Ashley Miller, the chair of the ANCS Fall Fest Planning Committee, said that “ANCS needs and appreciates sponsors who can partner with us to help make this event a success and raise money for the school and all of its wonderful programs.”
Tickets for the ANCS Fall Fest are $8 per person. Children two and under are admitted free. A “Family of Four Package” is $25 and includes two pony ride tickets. Advance tickets can be purchased online after September 15 by visiting www.atlncs.org/fallfestival. The ticket price does not include food, drink, bake sale items, and some activities. Follow us at www.facebook.com/ANCSFallFestival for the latest updates. See you in October!
