Goodbye summer break, hello new school year! Ready or not, it is back to school time and the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School (ANCS) is excited to kick off its third year as a K-8 charter school. With an elementary campus in Grant Park and a middle campus in Ormewood Park, the school faculty, staff and PTCA committee will welcome nearly 100 new students and families into the learning community for the 2013-14 school year.
ANCS is hosting orientation, open house days and a school-wide social for new and returning families, which will provide students with a chance to meet their new teachers for the year, as well as the new middle campus principal, Dr. Cathey Goodgame. Lara Zelski, elementary campus principal, and Matt Underwood, executive director of ANCS, will also be in attendance to greet families at the various events.
In addition to the back-to-school events, ANCS has some great events planned for the new school year. The sixth annual PTCA Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21. The sale is one of the largest in Southeast Atlanta. ANCS will then celebrate the cooler weather at the ANCS Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19. Everyone is invited.
