It’s once again time for the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School’s Wonder Ball! In its fourteenth year, the event is the largest fundraiser for ANCS, with proceeds going directly to the school’s operating budget. The evening always promises a great time, returning this year to the Georgia Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta. The neighborhood party adopts a new theme each year. Supporters and party-goers for the 14th installation of the auction and raffle soiree can expect to be amazed by the Fun House theme and atmosphere!
The Wonder Ball Fun House will be held on Saturday, March 11 from 5:00pm to 11:00pm. The amazing staff and volunteers from ANCS will transform the iconic Georgia Freight Depot into a Fun House experience for the community, ANCS families, and the kid in all of us to enjoy. Keeping in tradition for the annual festivities, attendees are encouraged to don their preferred party attire – from jeans to cocktail dresses, or your best Fun House inspired get up!
One of the highlights of any ANCS Wonder Ball is the lively, interactive raffle. A mere five dollars gets you a chance to win big and score one of the raffle tables filled with an abundance of amazing prizes (electronics, outdoor gear, home spa supplies, gift certificates, and more).
All of the fun and camaraderie can be had by visiting the auction’s website at www.atlncs.org/auction to purchase tickets in advance for $25.00. The website also allows you to contribute to this year’s auction, either as a donor or sponsor. And while the Wonder Ball Fun House welcomes the kid in all of us, the event is strictly adults only. However, childcare is available at ANCS and can also be purchased at the official auction website.
The second oldest charter school in Atlanta, ANCS is a K-8 charter school with two campuses formed by the merger of two successful charter schools that have been operating in the Grant Park and Ormewood Park neighborhoods since 2002. The school, which is a 501(c)3 organization, was created by a group of local parents who partnered with teachers and community members. They had a vision for a new approach to public education that focused on creative learning and relied on parental involvement.
Named the 2015 Charter School of the Year by the Georgia Charter Schools Association, ANCS continues to contribute to the community and the APS Jackson Cluster through award-winning innovative teaching practices, energy-efficient facilities, and efforts like its CREATE (Collaboration and Reflection to Enhance Atlanta Teacher Effectiveness) teacher development residency program.
