Dancers Perform to Win at Artistic Review

On May 11 through 13, the Dance 411 Performance Company debuted their company production and solo performances at the Kids Artistic Review in Atlanta. With a hometown view, the sixty-seven-strong group performed to the Greatest Show from the blockbuster movie The Greatest Showman. Dance 411 presented 29 dance entries. A few of the placement highlights included: 1st place – Top Primary Large Group 9 -11; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place – Top Intermediate Large Group 9-11; 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th place – Top Elite Large Group 15 -19; 1st and 4th place – Top Elite Small Group 15 -19; 2nd place – Top Elite Duet/Trio 15 -19; 2nd place – Top Intermediate Solo 12-14; 2nd place – Top Intermediate Small Group 12- 14; 2nd place – Top Novice Small Group 8 and Under; 3rd place – Top Secondary Small Group 8 and Under; 3rd and 5th place – Top Secondary Small Group 12 -14.
The following weekend, Dance 411 Performance Company won the Top Studio Award at the Encore DCS Regional Competition in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Top Studio Award is the highest honor of the competition.
Dance 411 Performance Company earned 32 notable awards, including 2 Encore Extreme $1,000 Scholarships for Kayla Lewis and Bernard Bell – and a Judge’s Choice “Heart & Soul” Award from Artistic Director Ryan Kenneth Johnson. “You can’t teach passion. Dance comes from the heart. You get it from your mama or you’re just born with it. These kids have the passion,” expressed Johnson about Dance 411’s Junior Elite team.
