For almost a decade, a number of churches in the Grant Park area have gathered annually for a time of worship, prayer, and fellowship in the Park. Congregations have not always been friendly across denominational affiliations and racial lines, so area churches view this gathering as an important sign of their common commitment to God and their shared investment in the southeast Atlanta community.
This year’s Worship in the Park service will be on Sunday, September 15 at 11:00am. It is sponsored by Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, Martha Brown United Methodist Church, Park Avenue Baptist Church, St. Paul United Methodist Church, and others. Participants will meet at the corner of Berne Street and Park Avenue for a time of singing, praying, and sharing communion as a community. For more information or questions, contact Rev. Dr. Tony Lankford at tlankford033@hotmail.com.
