Fall Fest Returns to Red’s Farm Preserve on Nov. 15

By Rachel Ezzo

Fall is back at Red’s Farm Preserve and that means Fall Fest is returning soon!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 15, and join us for a day of neighbors, nature, and all the things that make the Farm such a special place in our community.

If you’ve spent any time at Red’s Farm, you know it has a way of bringing people together. Kids wander and explore, neighbors catch up, volunteers get their hands dirty, and somehow there is always something new to notice – whether it’s a tree you’ve walked past a hundred times, a patch of berries ready to pick, or a familiar face you haven’t seen in a while.

There has been a lot of good energy at the Farm lately. This summer brought back blueberry U-pick season, which gave neighbors a chance to stop by, fill a container, and enjoy one of the sweetest traditions at the Farm. We also hosted a tree walk with certified arborist Dave Butler, where neighbors learned more about the trees, ecology, and natural character of the Preserve.

We’ve also been thinking a lot about the future. Over the past year, the community has been part of a thoughtful park vision process focused on what Red’s Farm Preserve can become in the years ahead. For a small, volunteer-run nonprofit, having access to expertise and planning resources has been incredibly valuable. Just as important, the process has helped us listen closely to the people who know and love this place.

As we look ahead, we want to honor what has always made the Farm special: the land itself, the legacy of Brian “Farmer Red” Harrison, and the spirit of community that helped preserve this property in the first place.

That is part of what makes Fall Fest so much fun. It’s not just an event – it’s a chance to celebrate the Farm as it is right now. So come spend the afternoon with us on November 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Bring your family. Bring a neighbor. Bring someone who has never been to the Farm before. Come enjoy the fall weather, reconnect with friends, and celebrate this little patch of green that continues to mean so much to so many people. For more information, visit www.ufoatlanta.org.

We can’t wait to see you at the Farm!
