Members of the FEAL board
The board members of the Friends of East Atlanta Library (FEAL) group held their annual meeting on Saturday, Oct. 3 in the library’s meeting room to share some updates on the board’s recent accomplishments. Attendees enjoyed refreshments while bidding on auction items donated to raise funds for the library. Bidding was also available through Oct. 3 on the Zeffy nonprofit fundraising website via a link of the FEAL Facebook page.
Board President Shannon Sanders made a few announcements to the group, including that FEAL approved $6,000 to spend on funding programs and supplies for the East Atlanta library. She thanked Megan Finnegan, the newest board member, for organizing the auction and gathering the items to be bid on. These items included several book packages for both children and adults, baskets of gourmet snacks, a basket of card games, a basket of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) swag for football (soccer) fans, figurines by local artist Greg Mike, and tickets to the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), including a private tour experience.
Later, Sanders informed the board that the event raised $1,515 and that several new members have joined FEAL
The board also voted for five members whose terms are expiring to return to serve a new term during 2027 and 2028.
