The Right Brain Ball Thanks the Neighborhoods

By Britney Blackburn, Bibbi Ransom, and Grace Burley
For all of our parents, teachers, neighbors, and friends who came to the Right Brain Ball in support of Neighborhood Charter and Atlanta Charter Middle School, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The event was a huge success in both raising money and having fun!
Our emcee, Hollis Gillespie, captivated the audience of approximately 500 guests. There were more than 300 auction items up for grabs thanks to all the wonderful people and businesses that donated. There was fabulous artwork available created by our own little artists as well as professional artists, both local and outside the perimeter. Our teachers charmed us all with their wonderful ‘70s television costumes. Did you see the legs on Daisy Duke?
The raffle baskets this year were over the top! For the guests to exercise their own creativity, there was a giant magnetic word wall to make left brain and right brain sentences, a creative tree for people to decorate, and a photo booth by Christine Gallagher. And if you haven’t seen it already, the Krog Street tunnel had its own shout out for the event.
We would like to give a couple of special thank yous to some of our parents and neighbors: Hollis Gillespie who was hilarious; Drew Ihrig and his fantastic Endive Fine Catering staff, who went above and beyond to help make it happen; the venue, – 200 Peachtree; Tulip, for providing stunning floral décor; and The Blue Galaxy String Project who entertained the crowd.
Planning is already in the works for next year. If you missed the big event this year, look out for Right Brain Ball: The Sequel coming to a venue near you in 2012.
