The Makers Festival is returning to Ormewood Park this spring. The SAND Neighborhood Association has announced it will be presenting this popular street festival on Saturday, June 11 from 11:00am to 6:00pm.
The Makers Festival was established to showcase those who “make”, through craftsmanship, artistic ingenuity, and homegrown talent. Makers are encouraged to showcase their creations and share their skills as they display their handmade fashion, woodworking, jewelry, blacksmithing, photography, and other arts.
The festival will celebrate innovators, creators, designers, crafters, educators, tinkerers, food artisans, hobbyists, engineers, and artists. The Makers Festival is intended to be a combination of arts festival and crafts fair.
In addition to the Makers Market there will be live music, food and drink, neighborhood organizations, nonprofit stalls, and much more The annual festival is a great opportunity for Porch Press readers to get to know one of SAND’s many eclectic neighborhoods, Ormewood Park.
Walking or bicycling to the festival is encouraged. MARTA has a bus stop very close on Route 4 (Moreland Avenue at Delaware Avenue). There is street-parking for anyone who needs to drive on the surrounding streets. The address is 1071 Delaware Avenue (Ormewood Park Church).
