The Pooch Press: My Cat Gatsby

Why I Love Gatsby

My cat’s name is Gatsby. He is fourteen years old and loves food. I met him when I was four, and ever since I have been a cat lover. Gatsby is the first cat I ever met. He has taught me how to be gentle and patient with animals. He has inspired me to be not only a cat lover but an animal lover.

Gatsby’s Day

The moment Gatsby sees or hears anyone in the morning, he won’t stop begging for food until he gets it. The earlier he starts begging, the louder he is. It is adorable when he is mad because of his squeaky voice, and distracting when I am getting ready for school or going to bed. He does not like it when I go to school.

Even though he is a senior cat, he has the energy of a kitten. He runs and gallops around the house like a horse either early in the morning or late at night. After 6:00 pm every day, if we get close to his bowl, he runs towards it. He meows and squeaks as loud as he can. After he is done eating, and carrying some of my small cat plushies or his toys, he runs to the dining room. When we are done with dinner, he jumps on to one of the chairs around the dining table. He looks around to make sure no one is looking before he jumps onto the table.

He loves to snuggle almost everyone and everything: backpacks, me, people, furniture, etc. He loves sitting in windows, and sunshine. He is my favorite cat in the world. Cute, adorable, squeaky, funny, and more.
