SEABA Updates

By Ashley McCartney
On April 18, Young Augustine’s graciously hosted our networking soiree. We again had sixteen attendees, albeit different guests than last month’s event. Imagine if everyone showed up to the same event! We thank Young Augustine’s for their hospitality and for welcoming us back. The beer list there is awesome. The food was amazing. We are lucky to have them in the neighborhood. I encourage all to check it out soon.
Earlier in the day on April 18, the SEABA board met with two representatives from Walmart to discuss their plans for the Lafarge Property adjacent to Glenwood Park. In this issue, you will see a press release from SEABA on the substance of this meeting. We encourage everyone to get involved and stay tuned on this project as it has enormous implications for the Beltline and development in this area generally. We will continue to stay engaged and represent the interests of our constituency.
Our next business luncheon will be held at the Zoo Atlanta Ford Conference Center on May 16 from 12:00pm until 1:15pm. Ron Fisher of Profiling Solutions will give a presentation on Customer Management in 2013. The cost to attend is $12 and RSVP’s are encouraged as space is limited.
On June 20, the Sound Table at 483 Edgewood Avenue will host our networking soiree from 5:30pm until 7:15pm. Come network with other business owners and entrepreneurs in the area and promote your business! Bring your business cards! This is where deals get started.
Good things are on the horizon for SEABA in 2013. Please check out our SEABA website at www.seabaga.org. If you would like to be on our mailing list or know more about our organization just send an email to ashmccartney@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you. We are also on Facebook.
SEABA (South East Atlanta Business Association) was created through the merger of the Reynoldstown/Cabbagetown Business Association and the Grant Park Merchants Association in 2006. Our most important goals are to strengthen and grow the business community and enhance the quality of life for all residents. SEABA is a 501(c)(6) non-profit corporation operated by volunteers.
