Some neighbors gathered on Saturday, August 24, to organize a political campaign effort focused on Southeast Atlanta. The group, called SE Atlanta Neighbors Take Action will initially focus on the presidential race, supporting the Harris/Walz ticket.
Politically active individuals in Southeast Atlanta are encouraged to join the effort and follow the work of the group through its Facebook page, SE Atlanta Neighbors Take Action. Beginning September 4, participants will meet at the 274 Decatur Street office of the Harris/Walz Fulton campaign on Wednesdays at 5:30pm and on Saturdays at 10:30am. By setting a regular time and place to meet, participants will meet their neighbors also interested in taking action.
There are numerous ways people can participate. At the Fulton campaign you can get a list of voters to contact by knocking on doors or by phone. The lists will be for neighbors living in southeast Atlanta. There will also be opportunities to help with campaign visibility at special neighborhood events.
Those interested can join the Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/996393888929965. The hope is that this group of committed citizens will continue to take action in future political issues.
