Push for Good: Second Annual Stroller-K

By Justin Ball
Come join the Grant Park Cooperative Preschool and Project Infinity on Saturday, October 20 for some family fun and fitness during the second annual Stroller-K, a 5K run/walk and fun run along the beautiful banks of the Chattahoochee River. The event will take place at Riverside Park from 9:00am until 11:00am and includes a Stroller Drive to collect new or gently used strollers for families in need.
Proceeds from the event will support professional development at participating Project Infinity schools, which include Grant Park Cooperative Preschool, The Nest, and four other early education programs in the greater Atlanta and Greenville, South Carolina regions.
Project Infinity is a collaborative, longitudinal, action research project involving schools for young children. Participating schools are committed to genuine, school-wide interest in analyzing the experiences and philosophies of Reggio Emilia as well as an active commitment to the welfare of all schools within the project and schools in the wider community. Building a stronger sense of camaraderie within and between schools has enabled more risk-taking, more openness to disagreement and change, less willingness to accept the status quo, and more willingness among educators to offer unique points of view in an evolving style of collaboration and social construction.
“Our school has been benefiting from Project Infinity’s investment in our professional development for the past 16 years. We truly owe our growth and evolution to the collaboration and exchange with colleagues from our “sister” schools over these years. The Stroller K is a new fundraising initiative for the Project and we had a lot of fun last year. We would like to increase the participation this year and have a number of families from all of our schools join us on this day,” said Executive Director Gabriela Garcia.
Show your support for early education in our neighborhood at the second annual Stroller-K on Saturday, October 20. For more information about Stroller-K 2018 or to register online, please visit www.inspiredpractices.org/stroller-k.
