By The Porch Press Board
We realized at a certain point over the last year or so that we would soon run out of the classic “Neighborhood News Rocks!” Porch Press T-shirts. What remained after our boothing at a few local festivals last year was a mix of only XL, XXL, and XXXL. All perfectly good sizes, but not exactly our top sellers.
With the substantial grant that we received from the EAV Strut at the beginning of this year, we found ourselves in a good position to redesign and print a fresh run of shirts. We asked Grant Park neighbor and Kennesaw State University art professor Joseph Karg for some help with the graphic design, and he did not disappoint. Local shop Saucebox Apparel Studio of Boulevard Heights brought it all home with their speedy and high-quality screenprinting. We received this batch of 150 “ROCK ON” shirts just in time to start selling them at the Ormewood Park Makers Fest on May 18.
The new design was obviously a continuation of our (super clever) play on the word “rock.” But what we hope makes this new tee even more special is that each rocking chair on the back represents a decade that The Porch Press has been in existence — five, since 1986.
The shirts are available in all standard sizes and in blue, pink, and yellow. Come find us at the EAV Strut on Saturday, September 28 to purchase one or more for you and yours. We are asking for $20 if paying by card/PayPal, or $15 cash. We will also be selling the remainder of our older stock, but with a twist: Since they are white or off-white, we will be offering a tie-dye bar. Have your own white T-shirt? Bring that, too, and we can help you hippify it to your heart’s content.
See you at the Strut!
