Maynard Jackson High School’s (MJHS) inaugural Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse 5K: Run for Your Life! will be held on Saturday, October 29, at 8:00am. You will run, walk or scream your way to the finish line for a good cause. All along the course through Historic Grant Park and Ormewood Park, zombies will put on a scary show for race participants, with a competitive twist that you won’t want to miss.
All proceeds will benefit the Maynard Jackson High School PTSA, to help support programs and activities for one of Atlanta’s finest high schools. Students from MJHS will help with make-up, props, and costumes for the race, and dress as some of the zombie actors. The official race T-shirt will feature the winning design from student submissions.
In addition, other neighborhood schools, students, and community groups will have the opportunity to get involved by volunteering, donating, and running the race, all raising money for MJHS. If you feel like testing out your Halloween costume, feel free to dress up for the race. Participants are encouraged to get into the zombie spirit for this event.
The race is hosted by Red Robin REALTORS® and starts and finishes at MJHS at 801 Glenwood Avenue. Individual registration is $25 in advance online and $30 on race day. MJHS student tickets are $15.
