The East Atlanta Library was buzzing with excitement on March 11 as the Friends of the East Atlanta Library (FEAL) hosted a lively opening reception for the Burgess Peterson Academy (BPA) Student Art Exhibit. The event drew a packed crowd of families, neighbors, and art lovers eager to celebrate the creativity of East Atlanta’s youngest artists.
In honor of Youth Art Month, the library’s walls were transformed into a vibrant gallery showcasing impressive artwork from BPA students. From bold colors to imaginative themes, the pieces reflected the talent, imagination, and hard work of these budding artists. A special thank-you goes to Nancy Mullins, BPA Librarian and FEAL board member, for organizing the event, and to Dr. Resler, BPA’s inspiring art teacher, for guiding the students in creating such remarkable work. FEAL board member Beverly Turner deserves a shoutout for preparing a delicious spread for the reception, which added to the welcoming, festive atmosphere.
The FEAL board voted unanimously to sponsor and organize the event alongside BPA staff, reinforcing their commitment to arts, youth, and community programming at the library. The student artwork remained on display throughout March, giving visitors a chance to enjoy the exhibition all month long. Congratulations to all the young artists, and here’s hoping for more community art events to come.
