Kick Start: A Summer Camp Option

By Carlen Ruth Hultgren
If you are looking for a fun and meaningful summer camp experience for children ages 5-10, award-winning Kick Start Martial Arts (KSMA) is offering a holistic, developmental camp to consider in your mix of summer camps this year. KSMA focuses on fun activities that combine mental, physical, social, and emotional growth. Located on Moreland Avenue, just south of East Atlanta Village, KSMA is offering four weeks of summer camp this year. The dates are June 4, June 11, July 9, and July 16. Camp runs 5 days a week, 8:00am and 4:30pm.
With the motto “Skills that Last a Lifetime,” KSMA incorporates strategy games, self-defense techniques, character-building discussions, and outdoor play daily, one in-house or outside field trip, pizza on Thursdays, and two snacks daily. You do not need to be a KSMA member and karate experience is not necessary. The cost of the camp is $299 a week after March 1, but $269 when you book and pay for your spot before by the end of February.
Interested students and their families are welcome to learn more about Kick Start Martial Arts, its summer camp, or to observe a regular class for free. Celebrating its 5th year serving the community, KSMA is located at 749 Moreland Avenue, Suite 103. Because of positive customer feedback, KSMA has been named “Best of Kudzu 2017” for martial arts training, also receiving this honor for three previous years. Kick Start has received $25,000 worth of renovations as the Grand Prize winner in the Wells Fargo Neighborhood Renovation program, making KSMA a state-of-the-art karate studio.
