From October 16 to 26, Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween tours will bring to life the stories of historic Oakland Cemetery’s residents as costumed docents guide guests through the Cemetery’s beautifully-lit Victorian gardens. The evening also includes musical performances, and guests are encouraged to arrive in costume to set the mood.

More than 70% of the event’s available tickets have already been claimed, so space is limited. This year’s live, theatrical event returns with great fanfare, including a new ticket offering – the Eternal Pass. This open-date ticket lets you join a tour whenever the mood strikes you. An Eternal Pass can be used on any date during the Capturing the Spirit of Oakland run, October 16-19 and 23-26, with entry between 5:00pm and 11:00pm on those dates.
The guided tours are available from 5:30pm to 10:30pm Thursday through Sunday and last about one hour, with the best experiences happening after sunset. This event is $45 for adults and $30 for children 3 to 12 years old. Capturing the Spirit of Oakland is family-friendly and is designed to enlighten, not frighten, but is recommended for children 8 and up. Tickets are available in advance at www.oaklandcemetery.com/spirit-2025.
This year’s artwork was created by Cabbagetown resident and artist Sean Fahie, founder and principal at Sean Fahie Studios.
All proceeds from Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween tours and the Pumpkin Patch benefit Historic Oakland Foundation’s preservation efforts for Oakland Cemetery, where Atlanta’s history comes alive.
