Holiday Faire and Artisan Market Return to The Children’s Garden Preschool

By Sally Hansen
The Children’s Garden Preschool in Grant Park is holding its annual Holiday Faire and Artisan Market on Saturday, December 13 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. This year marks the third year that the preschool has hosted this special community event which focuses on sharing the magic and wonder of the winter holiday season with families and their young children. Everyone is invited and admission is free.
The Holiday Faire offers a wide variety of activities for children to enjoy including face-painting, games, crafts to make, a puppet show, and the Wee Folk Shoppe, where even the smallest child is ushered by specially trained Frost Fairies through a magical room with twinkling lights. There, each child is assisted in purchasing handcrafted gifts for family and friends, and each gift is wrapped, labeled, and placed in the child’s very own shopping bag. All of the gifts have been made by teachers, staff, and parents at the school, and none costs more than a dollar.
Adults, too, will have plenty to occupy them while the children are making their way through the Wee Folk Shoppe. They can visit the Bake Shop Café for a full array of homemade baked goods and beverages, or they can browse the Artisan Market where local crafters and artists will offer original, one-of-a-kind works of art, crafts, and handmade items, including many of particular interest to families with young children.
The Holiday Faire is a staff- and family-run event and is fun for the whole community. It will be held rain or shine at The Children’s Garden Preschool at 486 Park Avenue. For more information, visit www.thechildrensgardenpreschool.org or call 404-624-8591.
