Kick off your holiday season with a creative Happy Hour and shopping visit to Atlanta Clay Works’ two nights of Open House, Friday, November 30 (5-9:00) and Saturday, December 1 (5-7:00). Sip cocktails created especially for this occasion: Friday sip Gluehwein and spiked cider; Saturday’s Happy Hour features a spiked cider and chai toddy. Drinks are free with the purchase of drinkware or for a donation. Non-alcoholic versions are also available.
Browse through their studio for unique gifts – handmade functional and decorative pottery, ornaments, sculptures, cards, and hand-bound books. Or come sip and select the gift of a creative experience: purchase a Clay Play Night for a few friends or family (hand-building or throwing) or sign up for a relaxing Taproom and Clay creative evening. Full sets of classes are also available, and for the serious clay artist the Atlanta Clay Works offers occasional raku workshops.
Located in the heart of the Kirkwood community, 42 Howard Street, 30317, Atlanta Clay Works is a place where craft meets community. The group of artists who make up this co-operative venture are proud of their work-space and gallery and invite all to visit. Regular hours are Thursday, 12-7; Firday, 12-5; Saturday, 12-5; and Sunday 12-5. However, one of the artists is glad to meet you at the studio by appointment and during the holidays, extended hours will be posted.
