By Grant Park Conservancy Staff
The Conservancy works hard to make the park a welcoming place for all visitors by restoring the park’s architecture and gathering spaces, providing picnic areas and other amenities, and caring for the ecological health of the park. We love seeing the many different festivals and events in the park and enjoy seeing so many family celebrations, reunions, and picnics in The People’s Playground!
All festivals and events that take place in the park are permitted through and overseen by the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation. This department is responsible for enforcing all permit requirements, park rules and vehicle access to the park. While the Parks Department welcomes our feedback, GPC has no authority over the permitting process or to enforce park rules.
Residents with concerns about an event in the park are invited to contact the Parks Department directly by emailing Parks Special Events Manager Shantori Palmer at SAPalmer@atlantaga.gov and ParksCustomerService@atlantaga.gov. Residents are also encouraged to copy the Conservancy on any correspondence at info@gpconservancy.org so that it can incorporate community concerns into the feedback that it will relay to the Parks Department.
Information on renting a pavilion or gazebo is available at www.atlantaga.gov/government/departments/parks-recreation/office-of-recreation/facilities/gazebos-pavilions.
