As we close out the year, the Grant Park Conservancy invites you to take a walk through Grant Park and celebrate the meaningful progress made possible by our community’s support. This past year, we have cared for our beautiful, historic park through restoration projects, ecological care initiatives, and educational programming.

In 2025, we completed a wide range of projects across the park. The Southeast Quadrant now features a new signature entrance and gathering plaza, along with a wildlife mural created by our high school interns. After being closed for decades, the Abana Courtyard has been reclaimed, and new pavers and greenspace enhance the area surrounding the Erskine Fountain. We also introduced new interpretive educational signage developed through a comprehensive public history project, sharing the rich and complex stories about Grant Park’s history.

The new playground, designed with today’s kids in mind, offers a safe, engaging space that will serve Atlanta’s children for generations. The basketball courts were resurfaced, and the surrounding plaza now provides a welcoming area for basketball, pickleball, and tennis players.

Habitat restoration initiatives continued throughout the Cherokee Wetlands, Constitution Spring, and the Pond, preserving the park’s environmental health. We also conducted extensive tree pruning, to support a healthy canopy and keep visitors to the park safe. Specially curated gardens at Loomis Plaza settled in and bloomed this year, following the plaza’s restoration.

As we celebrate this steady, meaningful progress, we are also preparing for a productive 2026. In the year ahead, we plan to break ground on the Milledge Fountain Outdoor Classroom and Theatre, open the new GPC Park Care Center, and bring back the Canopy Soirée and the Summer Shade Festival.

Our work in the park is possible only because of the support of neighbors and friends who cherish Grant Park as much as we do. If you are able, please consider donating to the Grant Park Conservancy. Your contribution directly sustains the care and improvements that keep our historic park thriving for generations to come. Visit: www.gpconservancy.org/support
