Call to order – 7:30pm.

President’s introduction: Appointment of Treasurer, Gene Gibbs. President Keen motions to confirm the appointment; the motion is adopted.

Approval of the November minutes.

Public Official Update: Councilperson Carla Smith – Announcement of dates for public meetings about South Boulevard Complete Streets: January 21 at 6:00pm or January 23 at 11:00am. Complete Street on Boulevard from 1-20 to the prison to resurface the street and new paint. Housing assistance for people with problems paying rent or mortgage, so if you or anyone needs help (in the City of Atlanta) call the United Way. (The money from the CARES act went to the United Way for this.) Email Carla at csmith@atlantaga.gov.

Special Orders

Item One – Public Safety Committee: Zone 6 representative update. Lieutenant Carol of Zone 6 update. Member question about parking on Georgia Avenue in Summerhill. Member question about commercial trucks to drive in excess of 45 mph on Boulevard. Note for neighborhood residents and visitors to keep cars clean. Change of agent for 3 Parks Wine Shop; Sarah Pierre, managing owner. The vote will be at NPU-W.

Item Two – Land Use & Zoning and Transportation Committee: V-20-163 / 672 Rosalia Street; Application for a special exception to allow active recreation in a yard adjacent to a street, to allow for the installation of a swimming pool. Vote for forwarding to NPU-W. LUZ Vote: (pending). Motion to approve this application as it goes to NPU-W; motion passes.

Grant Park Gateway to open January 2. Fencing removed January 2. Gateway Parking Deck and Cherokee lot managed by AAA Parking. Hours 6:00am-11:00pm; Monday-Sunday, 365 days a year. Cost will be $3 per hour, or $12 per day (max $12). Questions? Email Corey Rosenfeld at crosenfeld@aaaparking.com. City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation will be responsible for maintaining the greenspace. Restrooms are expected to open on January 2 as well. Item Three – Homes & History Committee: Next AUDC meeting and hearing will be on January 13. New procedure for reporting Historic Preservation violations. Report potential violations to the following email address and phone number: CodeBustersDCP@atlantaga.gov or 404-865-8550.

From the Grant Park Conservancy: Lion Bridge and Erskine Fountain are nearing completion. Unveiling on Sunday December 20.

Tip of the month: if you’re not using your chimney, sealing fire places can save money 

Item Four – Fundraising Committee: NPU Community Impact Grant winners have been announced. Erin and Elaine’s designs have been chosen to go up in Grant Park.
