Vice President, Michelle Kirby: Welcome and thanks again to Zoo Atlanta for the use of their space. Please read/review the Housekeeping and Meeting Conduct points above. Welcome to new members: Name, Street and profession; hobby; burning question? Elected Officials SHORT Update (if any are present). David Dreyer: School funding overhaul bill has been pulled. Bill to change the term “mental retardation”. City of Atlanta delegation to bring affordable housing solutions. Grant Park ConservancyGPConservancy.org. Grant Park Parent Network: Update- GrantParkParents.org. Run Before You Crawl 5K 4/8/17. Egg Hunt 4/15/17. Earth Day Workday 4/22/17. Red Carpet Rendezvous 4/29/17. Yard Sale 5/6/17.
Vice President, Dr. Michelle Kirby: Passed around sign-up and volunteer sheet, make sure info is correct.. Advised new members to check in or sign in. GPNA meeting signs: contact Michelle if interested. Committee Sign-up Sheet; Committee Chair contact info on left. GPPN Yard Sale: April 22. Volunteers Needed. Tour of Homes: May 20 and 21 Volunteers are needed.
Secretary: February minutes approved at the end of the meeting.
Treasurer: Report—the GPNA is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible..
Public Safety Committee Chair, Chris Newman: Zone 6 APD update: Reported crimes are significantly lower now than last year. Memorial Drive corridor still experiencing vehicle break-ins. The Trestletree incident on 3/20 was not a shooting, but an altercation and head injury. Zone 6 Community Prosecutor: Keith Lamar, keith.lamar@fultoncountyga.gov, 404 612-7012. Neighborhood Watch Update: Memorial Drive corridor still experiencing vehicle break-ins but down significantly. No crimes against persons in Grant Park. Vehicle break-ins, bicycle and lawnmower theft. NPU-W meets on Wednesday nights. March meeting to cover liquor license for the George.
Economic Development, Stephen Powner: Sunbursts are $75 and available online, $50 at the GPNA meetings. Grant Park Gathering TBD.
Homes and History, Paul Simo: Historic Design Regulation Rewrite Update. Tip of the Month: do not pressure wash your house, only use soft bristle brushes. Historic Design Regulation Rewrite Update: New Certificates of Appropriateness (COAs)—CA3-16- 076: 453 Waldo Street (roof/rear addition); CA3-17- 002: 380 Cameron Street; CA3-17- 023: 534 Robinson Avenue; CA3-17- 024: 534 Robinson Avenue; CA2-17- 0 & 034: 519 Memorial Drive; CA2-17- 037: 651 McDonald Street; CA3-17- 038: 647 Atlanta Avenue (rear addition);CA3-17- 039: 456 Robinson Avenue (rear addition); CA2-17- 058: 519 Cherokee Avenue; CA3-17- 078: 453 Waldo Street (roof/rear addition); Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month.

Land Use and Zoning, Rick Hudson: Atlanta Streets Alive: Sunday, April 23 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. The city is considering approving tiny houses to be built on R5 lots. Contact Carla Smith’s office for more information.
Open Floor Discussion: Grant Park Farmers Market is now open from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Give Children the World (501c3) is seeking donations of old desktop computers. Smiles 4 Grant Park, a new dental office, is opening in the Leonard in June or July of 2017.
