We’ve heard you! We all love the engraved bricks at the playground. The Grant Park Conservancy (GPC) is excited to announce that the sale of engraved playground bricks – a unique opportunity to support the park and make a lasting impact, is back. The engraved bricks, which will be installed in the fall, will help support the renovation of the park’s playground.
For years, the community has enjoyed commemorating their loved ones while supporting the GPC by getting engraved bricks. Whether honoring a beloved pet, or celebrating love and friendships, these bricks tell the story of our community with creativity and a sense of humor.
From a bold marriage proposal – she said yes! –, to a nod from Albus Dumbledore, these bricks capture the spirit of Grant Park. Messages range from heartfelt to whimsical: some remind us “Nature Heals,” “Be Kind,” and “Carpe Diem,” while others show love for Grant Park itself, with fun proclamations like “Wild about GP since 1966.”
Among several restoration projects, including Loomis Plaza, the Abana Courtyard and the Southeast Quadrant, the Grant Park Conservancy is leading the renovation of the existing playground. With input from the community, we are working to create a space that will bring joy to children and families for years to come.
So, craft your special message and claim your brick today. Each beautiful, engraved brick can hold three lines of text and include symbols like hearts, stars, flowers, or paws. But don’t delay; only a limited number of engraved bricks are available!
