Spring was anything but quiet for the East Atlanta Parents Network (EAPN). As the season winds down and summer kicks in, they take a look back at all the excitement.
Things started off with a bang (and lots of hairspray) at the second annual EAV Prom on Saturday, March 15, EAPN’s big yearly fundraiser. Parents and neighbors came out dressed to the nines in their best ’80s attire, dancing the night away while raising funds to support EAPN’s mission of bringing free, family-friendly fun to the community all year long. Huge thanks to the many local sponsors and generous raffle donors who helped make the night a hit, the organization couldn’t do it without the locals. EAPN is already counting down the days to next year’s throwback bash.

Next up was the Easter Egg Hunt at Brownwood Park, and it was “egg-ceptional!” With nearly 4,000 eggs hidden by EAPN’s amazing volunteers, kids of all ages had a blast hunting for treasures. Peter Rabbit even hopped by for some seriously cute photo ops.
To round out the season, the Parents Network hosted the always popular Spring Fling on Sunday, May 4 at the EAV Farmers Market. There were bounce houses, crafts, Italian ice, face painting, fairy hair, and other activities. But it wasn’t just about fun and games. This year, in partnership with LifeLine Animal Project, kids got to meet some sweet rescue pups and make enrichment toys for their new furry friends. EAPN always makes it a point to include a give-back element in their festivals. Last time, families made toiletry bags for our unhoused neighbors. This time, it was all about dogs.

EAPN is taking a break from formal events over the summer, but you can keep up with them on Instagram (@eavparents) and Facebook (East Atlanta Parents Network) for the latest news, pop-up events, and ways to stay involved.
Want to help bring more joy to the community? EAPN is always looking for volunteers and committee members to help make the magic happen. If you’re interested, shoot them an email at EAPN@eaca.net. They’d love to hear from you.
