Follow-up to traffic enforcement from last meeting, one arrest on narcotics and a vehicle warrant. Tree House Lounge, at 485 Flat Shoals- raid for alcohol sales after hours and arrest of 4 individuals. Passed info on potentially unlicensed alcohol vending to other enforcement departments in the city.
Bee Nguyen – State Representative: Overview on impact of new voting law change. November 3 Special Session to work on redistricting. Buckhead de-annexation issue coming in the special session. Preview of 2022 legislation, expects it to be challenging and full of divisive issues.
Kevin Friend, Natalyn Archibong’s Office]: Get out and vote. No major news.
Update on Union Battle Trail – May 2022 for answer on funding request. Yard pickups starting to pick up. Kevin is leaving CofA in November. Q: Any update on Glenwood / Moreland alignment? A: Nothing to report at this time.
Q: How to proceed on Union Battle Trail. A: Keep after District 5 representative after election to make sure they understand the importance to the community.

Living Walls Murals – update from Monica Campana. Mural sponsored by Atlanta Hawks and Modela. Permitted due to Modela logo, will be temporary. Unsure of production SCHEDULE, dependent on permitting. Located at Flat Shoals and Glenwood, side of the old Dollies. Will be up until March 2022. Mural looks like basketball court, but intention is for people to take photos.
Membership update from Chase Miller: Welcome to new members joined at the Strut. New/renewals through end of 2021 are good through 2022. Working on online lookup of membership status.
Karla Causey – LUZ: V-21-203 684 Brownwood Avenue. Approved by LUZ committees for EA and LUZ. EACA Motion to approve committee action passed 32 yea, 1 nay, 3 abstain. U-21-015 876 Bouldercrest Drive- Food Truck Park. Denied at NPU due to impasse between community conditions and applicant. EACA motion deny the SUP application – 26 Yea, 6 Nay, 2 Abstain. Z-21-077 570 Flat Shoals Zoning & CDP 21-053. EACA LUZ voted to deny. NPU LUZ recommended denial. EACA motion to deny rezoning application – 23 yea, 16 nays, 2 abstain. Z-21-74 / Z-21-085 Short Term Rental. LUZ committee recommendation was to communicate to City that the zoning ordinance be rewritten instead of amended. Motion to approve committee recommendation passed by acclamation.
EABA, Nate Minor: Received Main Street Grant for 2022 activities. Working on improvements for ride share in the village. Rideshare parking signs. Flat Shoals being restriped at May for Rideshare. Small Business Saturday bingo coming soon. Working with city planning department to study parking in village.
Transportation, Karlyn Beer: Sidewalk work wrapping up on Glenwood/Moreland Realignment. Signage for rideshare locations in progress. No updates on Flat Shoals speeding. SMAWG/GDOT meeting November 10; three openings for EACA members. Motion to approve Brad Henn, Karlyn Beer, Leslie Ramirez as EACA representatives passed by acclamation. Transportation chair for 2022 is Alicia Phillips.
Parks and Greenspace: Thanks to Doug Williams and Trees Atlanta for workday support. Brownwood Park workday each first Saturday. Sarah stepping down as President due to residence change; VP Vic Thomas taking over for the rest of 2021.
