The Friends of the East Atlanta Library (FEAL) are volunteers who support a strong public library system for the benefit of the community. The FEAL Board is currently looking to fill a position for Treasurer.
Friends’ volunteers enrich the library in many ways by:
- Volunteering to help with many important tasks and projects and events at the library.
- Sponsoring programs and cultural activities to involve the community in the library.
- Funding important needs or programs currently not in the library’s budget.
- Organizing and hosting events and fundraisers to raise awareness and money for the library.
The treasurer candidate should have experience with basic record keeping, disbursing funds, balancing books, acknowledging receipts of funds, and reporting a quarterly finance report to Board, filing annual 990, and understanding of small 501c3 accounting.
FEAL also welcomes potential Board members residing in East Atlanta, Grant Park, Kirkwood, Ormewood Park, Reynoldstown, or SAND neighborhoods. If you want to get involved in your community and support your local library branch in East Atlanta, please email: friendsofeal@gmail.com for more information and/or to submit your name for nominations.
The Annual Meeting will be held in late January for a formal vote. And you are encouraged to check out @friendsofeastatlantalibrary on Facebook to learn more about what the Friends of the East Atlanta Library have been doing in our local community for a long time.
