The Candlelight Tour of Homes in Grant Park has long been remembered for its beautiful homes and holiday decorations, as well as the warm, welcoming hospitality extended to tour-goers. In recent years, the Artists’ Market also has been recognized as a favorite holiday shopping source for last-minute gifts and unique artwork and jewelry.
This year’s tour, the 31st, is taking place on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, and still has tickets available at www.CandlelightTourofHomes.com or by calling 404-688-7501. Tickets purchased on or before December 9 is $15 each. Afterwards, tickets can be purchased for $20 each at the ticket booth located in the sanctuary of St. Paul United Methodist Church at 501 Grant Street in Grant Park.
“The Candlelight Tour of Homes is a tradition with our family,” said Grant Park resident Angela Russell. “It doesn’t feel like the holidays until we see Santa at the church on Saturday, do some caroling with our friends and neighbors and then check out the homes on the tour.”
In addition to the home tour, the Grant Park Parent Network has worked its holiday magic again to ensure that Santa will be making his regular stop at St. Paul only on Saturday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, so don’t forget your cameras or your wish list. Also, only on Saturday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, holiday revelers are invited to join in on the neighborhood caroling and hayride.
The Artists’ Market and Bake Sale, with complimentary hot chocolate and hot apple cider, is open both nights with no admission costs. Saturday’s Market opens early at 4:00pm, closing at 9:00pm. Sunday’s Market opens at 6:00pm, along with the ticket booth and the Tour, immediately after a special Candlelight Christmas Concert by the St. Paul choir which begins at 5:00pm.
Pre-purchased tickets bought at participating sponsor locations or online must be exchanged for Tour programs, which are used as entry into the homes on the Tour, at the ticket booth inside St. Paul on either night of the Tour. Additionally, St. Paul is home to the Artists’ Market and visits with Santa, and the start of the caroling hayride.
Thanks to the generosity of Tour sponsors Adams Realtors, Agave Restaurant, Intown Pediatrics, and Six Feet Under Pub & Fish House, as well as hundreds of ticket sales, proceeds from the Candlelight Tour benefit three community nonprofit organizations: St. Paul Methodist Church, Grant Park Cooperative Preschool, and Grant Park Parent Network.
