Ape Conservation Effort, Inc. (ACE) will host the fourth Run for the Redheads on Saturday, June 2 in Grant Park. A 1-mile fun run will begin at 8:00 am and the 5K run will follow at 8:30am, taking runners/walkers through the beautiful and historic Grant Park neighborhood. Choosing to be a virtual “Phantom Runner” is another option for race participation. Runners Fit race management company is producing the race and registration can be completed at https://runsignup.com/runforredheads. All proceeds will benefit Orangutan Outreach (www.redapes.org) and all participants will be helping to save one of the world’s most endangered animals.
A range of sponsor opportunities for Run for the Redheads exists. There should be a level that is attractive for most any business interested in reaching physically active or community active individuals.
The mission of Orangutan Outreach is to protect orangutans in their native habitat while providing care for orphaned and displaced orangutans until they can be returned to their natural environment. They seek to raise and promote public awareness of orangutan conservation issues by collaborating with partner organizations around the world.
Ape Conservation Effort, Inc. (ACE) is a Georgia not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation comprised of volunteer members who share a passion for animals and a commitment to saving the great apes (bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans), all of whom are endangered, some critically endangered. Members of ACE work to raise awareness of the plight of the great apes and support for their conservation. ACE conducts fundraising activities from which 100% of profits will be distributed to internationally recognized organizations that work in the animals’ homelands of Africa and Indonesia to save these animals from extinction and conserve their native habitats.
