If you have ever been to the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School (ANCS) Yard Sale, you know it is one of the neighborhood events not to miss. This year’s Sixth Annual Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, September 28 from 8:00am until 4:00pm at the school’s elementary campus in Grant Park, located at 688 Grant Street. As usual, the Yard Sale is open to the public.
Each year the ANCS Yard Sale grows in the amount and variety of gently-used items offered. Donations are already rolling in, and this year’s sale is looking to be bigger and better than ever. Whether you are doing some back-to-school shopping or are just looking, be prepared to find name brand clothes for children and adults, best-selling books and DVDs, as well as wonderful household, baby, and furniture finds for your home.
“The ANCS yard sale is the biggest Parent-Teacher Community Association (PTCA) fundraiser for our school community with contributions from hundreds of families,” said Winston King, an ANCS parent and leader of this year’s Yard Sale committee.
Rebecca Hudson, last year’s Yard Sale committee chair, added, “The PTCA raised over $14,000 from the sale last year. That money went directly into improvements at both campuses of the school.”
The ANCS fifth-graders will once again be selling light refreshments during the event to keep you refreshed and ready to shop. The money they raise will help pay for their annual spring trip to Blue Ridge, Georgia.
The yard sale is organized by ANCS’ Parent-Teacher Community Association, which aims to coordinate and promote parent, teacher, and community involvement and communication in the school. For more information about ANCS, visit the school’s website at www.atlncs.org.
