A Seussome Twosome Hits Burgess Peterson

By Henry Bryant
Just in time for the national Read Across America annual celebration, the Friends of East Atlanta Library are partnering with Burgess Peterson Academy to bring Capitol City Opera’s musical A Seussome Twosome to East Atlanta. The show, designed for elementary school aged children will be offered to everyone for free on Friday, March 16 at 6:00pm at Burgess Peterson Academy, located at 480 Clifton Street (parking off Glenwood Avenue) in East Atlanta. This will be a live musical play that has been staged in schools all over metro Atlanta to rave reviews. With colorful costumes, prose directly from the popular Dr. Seuss books, and lots of audience interaction, it promises to be a hit here, too.
The library will be signing families up for library cards before and after the play. The school’s PTA will be decorating and providing refreshments, all with a Suess theme. A large crowd is expected. Friends of the Library will also be there to help out and could still use some volunteers. For more information or to volunteer, call 404-377-6148 or email hbryant@mindspring.com.
