Cub Scout Pack 688 will kick off a new scouting year on Sunday, August 3 in the third-floor gymnasium at St. Paul UMC in Grant Park. Families interested in learning more about the Pack are encouraged to drop in between 1:00pm  and 4:00pm.

The Cub Scout program is open to boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade; a child can join for the first time at any grade. Cub Scouting encourages kids (and their families) to make friends, be helpful to others, and do their best!

Pack 688 primarily serves families in Grant Park, Ormewood Park, Summerhill, East Atlanta, and surrounding neighborhoods. Scouts are organized by grade into “dens,” which typically meet one or two Sunday afternoons per month. The entire Pack meets monthly on Monday evenings.

The Pack hosts many fun events during the year, including the Rain Gutter Regatta, Pinewood Derby, hikes, campouts, and our annual Christmas tree recycling fundraiser in partnership with the Grant Park Conservancy. It is an entirely volunteer-run organization, and each scout’s grown-up is expected to attend and engage in meetings and events.

Pack 688 has a strong, active Cub Scout program and is one of the larger packs in the Atlanta area. To learn more, join us on August 3 or visit us online at PackInThePark.com.
